Canine
personal training

The same coaching, on four legs. Sotir has spent nineteen years turning intent into ability in people. Dogs answer to the same things: clear standards, honest repetition, and a handler who stays calm when it matters.

A dog that pulls, will not come back, or cannot settle is not a bad dog. It is an untrained one. Sessions are one to one, outdoors and in the real places you walk, so the behaviour holds up where it actually counts and not only in a quiet backyard.

Canine Personal Training
The work

What we work on

Every dog starts with an assessment, so the plan fits the dog in front of him. These are the pieces most owners come for.

Foundations

Obedience that holds

Sit, down, place and a genuine settle. Not tricks for the kitchen, but positions your dog will hold while the doorbell goes, while you eat, and while a stranger walks past.

Lead work

Walks you enjoy

Loose lead walking, turns, and attention on you rather than on every other dog in the park. The walk stops being a wrestle and starts being the best part of the day.

Recall

A recall that works

Off lead reliability built properly in open ground, with distance and distraction added only once the dog is honest at each stage. The recall you can actually trust.

Impulse control

Focus under pressure

Waiting at doors and kerbs, leaving food, ignoring bikes and birds. A dog that can think while it is excited is a dog you can take anywhere.

Conditioning

A body and a job

Working breeds were built to work. Structured exercise and drive work give that engine somewhere to go, which quietly solves a lot of what looks like bad behaviour.

Confidence

Steadier in the world

Careful exposure for the nervous or under socialised dog, built at the dog's pace. Confidence is trained the same way strength is: small honest loads, repeated.

The process

How it works

No packages to pick through before you have even spoken to him. It starts with a conversation about your dog.

01Enquire. Tell him the breed, the age, and the honest version of what you are struggling with.
02Assessment. He meets you and the dog, sees how you handle each other, and finds where it is actually breaking down.
03A plan. Clear priorities in order, with homework short enough that you will really do it between sessions.
04The work. One to one sessions in the environments where the dog needs to hold it together, not in a quiet room.
05Handed over. The goal is you running the dog confidently on your own, with him there when you need a reset.
Questions

Before you enquire

Age

What age should my dog start?

Puppies can begin foundations as soon as they are settled at home and cleared by your vet. Adolescents and adults are welcome, and older dogs learn perfectly well. The work is matched to the dog, not to a number.

Where

Where do sessions happen?

Around Melbourne, outdoors and in the real places you walk, plus at home where the habits actually live. Training only in a quiet room produces a dog that behaves only in a quiet room.

You

Do I need to be there?

Yes. The handling is coached to you as much as to the dog, because the dog goes home with you. Expect to be given clear homework and to be held to it.

Common asks

Mine pulls and will not come back

Those two are the most common reasons people call, and both are trainable. It takes clear standards and honest repetition in the environments where your dog currently fails.

Safety

What about aggression or a bite history?

Say so when you enquire. Those cases are assessed in person before any plan is made and are not always the right fit. Being upfront keeps everyone safe, your dog included.

Booking

How do I book?

Places are by application. Send an enquiry with the breed, the age and what you are struggling with, and he will come back to you to organise an assessment.

Enquire about your dog

Tell Sotir about your dog and what you are trying to fix. If it is a fit, he will be in touch to organise an assessment.
